Disability Support Services - College to Career

Rachyl Wiesner was a student in both Disability Support Services’ College to Career (C2C) Program and Career Technical Education’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate Program. While studying to become an early childhood educator, Rachyl volunteered at a local preschool, gaining hands-on experience working with children. With guidance and mentorship from the preschool’s director and support from the C2C Program, Rachyl grew both professionally and personally from her time volunteering. The C2C staff shared, “Rachyl is a hardworking student who has overcome several challenges and adversities in furthering her independence, education, and career development. She has never lacked effort and always puts her best foot forward.” Rachyl graduated from the ECE Program in May 2016 and was offered a paid job opportunity from the preschool’s director. In addition to successfully completing her educational and vocation goals, Rachyl completed a personal goal of obtaining her driver’s license.

Miguel Nunez

Disability Support Services - College to Career

Miguel Nunez enrolled in NOCE's Disability Support Services College to Career Program and Cypress College's Automotive Program back in 2012. Nunez is a hardworking student who faced many challenges in furthering his independence, education, and career development. Nevertheless, his good sense of humor and positive attitude fueled Nunez to persevere. Today, Nunez is a working professional in the automotive industry. He currently works full time for an automotive shop. In addition, Nunez has obtained a drivers permit and is in the process of earning his license. He recently purchased a car and takes great pride in maintaining and detailing his best purchase yet. His job developer, Anthony Nguyen said, "Miguel's drive and passion for cars has steered him on the track to success as he continues to learn and grow both professionally and personally.
